Bird Font: Four Elements

The bath basin is cast in concrete and inset with mixed glasses, slate, ceramic and a shell from Bournemouth beach.  The slate rim is double layered: the first layer is adhered then fixed into the concrete with stainless steel screws.  Then the top layer and decorative features are added with a sturdy layer of weather proof, mortar-based adhesive.  The double rim is purposely slightly eliptical and offset, showing glimpses of first layer around the edges adding further interest and texture.
