The Old Cross, Dartmoor
Dartmoor is one of my favourite places to paint, full of mystery and mood. This is the old stone cross is named ‘Widgery Cross’ after the famous Victorian artist Frederick Widgery and the place has a spectacular view across the moors from the top and a wonderful evocative atmosphere.
This is a mixed media interpretation using layers of gesso, fabric, oil pastels, watercolour and Acrylic paints. Full of energy and movement, I hope I have recreated the feeling of this special place! It comes mounted and framed in a limed grey blue picture frame approx 2"wide.
