As it turned out, when the piece of stone used for the drawings was flat cut at the quarry it revealed a small crack across the base so I decided not to use it. This is the back-up piece I selected at St Aldhelm’s Quarry in Dorset, not as tall as the other piece, but wider and more stable. Most of the stone I have used over the past 7 or 8 years has come from this quarry.
