I started this painting over ten years ago. Due to a combination of fantastic light recently in Doolin and my re-reading of a few key texts, particularly TJ Westropp’s Folklore of Clare - and at last finding the key to the cupboard (er, I mean secure art storage facility) where the painting had been stored for the last five years, I finally finished it.
