Dolly the Burlesque Sheep
Dolly the Burlesque Sheep is one of my first mosaic sculptures, made as part of an online mosaic challenge where we had to create the structure first (I used an inflatable adult “toy”).
Dolly travels with me when I do talks for art groups or to the local Women’s Rural Institute.
As my talk title is usually “Making Mosaics with Recycled Materials”, Dolly comes into her own as she is covered with all manner of what others would call Rubbish.
She has flowers on her body made from scraps of stained glass, her fleece is a white broken tempered glass window, ceramic tile makes up her bow around her tail and the flower garden on the base, bone china plates make up her face and her hair is a curly perm made from cup handles.
Suitable for indoors only
