Bejeweled Dragonfly Brooch

I was commissioned to make this brooch for a lady who had just bought herself a lovely winter coat, with a wide thick collar, she wanted a dragonfly brooch that would be big enough to cope with the collar but still have a delicate look.

I adapted my dragonfly design to meet this criteria, adding faceted Rose Quartz to the wing tips and a faceted garnet to the centre of the wings.

To give extra clearance between the brooch and pin, I have secured the tail beads in place using the same technique as my Kiss Kross ring.

The dragonfly is 2” long, with a 2” wingspan and the clearance between the brooch and pin is 1/3”.
