Cahermacrusheen Fields No. 7
By tim bradford
This painting is one of the many I have done of the old field system down the hill from our cottage in Doolin, Co. Clare.
This is the time of the evening when most normal people are slipping off to get a couple of quick ones at their nearest local. Being two miles from the nearest pub means that I tend to just stare at the western sky instead. After about 20 minutes the dark blue sky and dark cloud cracks open to reveal a vision of another world, one where no-one grows old, there are lock-ins until 4 in the morning and someone else gets the kids dressed for school.
After much staring I would have completed this quickly using gold and yellow underpaint and sketch-painted using fingers and my old gardening glove.
