This painting started out as a joke.  Kid - “what are you painting dad?” Dad - “the entire history of the world” After that I had to fit in as much as I could. But it’s an interesting challenge for a painting - to show events across time.

These are often mixed together in what I want to be a spontaneous blend of images rich in cultural references, I hope held together by passages of pure painting and lyrical colour in a "new representationalism"
