Bahandi (Treasure)

By Abigail

Bahandi (Treasure)

My mother used to tell me the story regarding a seer telling her before that when she gets married, she will receive a ‘Bahandi’, or treasure in the Bisaya language. I asked her what kind of treasure did she receive, and she told me that it is having us three (my sister, younger brother, and I) in the family. I painted this using coffee of us three siblings in a nest to remind ourselves that we are our mother’s bahandi.
