The Blessed Virgin Mary has been one of the major subjects of Christian Art, Catholic Art and Western Art for many centuries.
The body of teachings that constitute Roman Catholic Mariology consist of four basic Marian Dogmas: Perpetual virginity, Mother of God, Immaculate conception and Assumption into Heaven.
‘Do NOT Break or Rape’ is a series of sculptures, combining dolls and the Holy Virgin.
Based on the dogma of perpetual virginity, the statues are protected in a fragile glass construction.
The dolls stay untouched, unbroken and virgin, respected for their female virtues be it Mary or Barbie.

About the artist
