White Amaryllis with Paint-pot and Brushes
My two favourite flowers for still lives are amaryllis and gladioli. This painting of the former alongside some studio artefacts appeals to me because I enjoy the idea of the artist’s tools integrating with plant pots flowers etc which are obviously more commonplace in still lives i.e. the tools become ‘part’ of the very thing they create!
