Bees and Buttercups

As I keep trying to persuade my two sons, bees are delightful creatures, not in the least interested in helping you eat your jam sandwich, and quite happy for you to have your nose just millimetres away from their nose as they forage for nectar. Since starting to paint bumblebees I have become aware of how many different kinds there are, and also how favourably they compare to the honey bee, getting up earlier, going to bed later, working away in worse weather. Heroes, every one
