Tupperware Travels
‘Tupper Ware Travels’
March 2018
This work presents a scene that is both minimalist and evocative. In the center of a vast greyish surface, there is a luminous circle which immediately catches the eye. This circle, a lid from a Tupperware box, diffuses a soft and enveloping glow. Inside this circle, a couple seated in a relaxed and contemplative posture. The figures are skill fully positioned, creating an impression of lightness and suspension in the air. The sparing use of colours underlines the hypnotic effect of the work. The contrast between the gray and the warmth emanating from the light circle creates a powerful visual duality. This play of light and shadow expresses a feeling of introspective solitude, prompting the viewer to reflect on the human condition and the refuge found in tranquility. The work is notable for its ability to evoke deep emotions with apparent simplicity. It challenges, amazes, and remains engraved in the mind with its serene beauty and its universal message.
