Hill Cottage Wales

The cottage was once the studio of the very distinguished English painter, printer and illustrator John Piper (1903-1992).  The mountain is Garn Fahr near Strumble Head on the Pembrokeshire coast.  It has been said that the unique landscape of this part of south Wales has a particularly heightened quality of ‘retaining the past in its present’ - a quality I think it shares with most of the areas of Ireland from where I also draw inspiration for my work.
