The Lesson
The painter in this piece is the renowned Irish artist Brian Ballard and his studious ‘pupil’ is another accomplished artist Paul O’Neill. Brian was running a short course on an offshore island near Burtonport in west Donegal. (The unfinished canvas in the foreground may have been my own.)
