Sycamore & glass display stand
By Sarah Walton
The glass shelves were tricky to cut, each one is angled differently. I made templates out of thick card to give to the glass cutters and the edges are ground to soften them. The shelves are set into rebates that are routered out with the angles in the corners hand finished with a chisel, each one being different. The whole piece is stabilized with three screw threaded bars each clad in a piece of copper tube, also patinated to match the base dome, these were then tightened with an alun key. The end of the bars are cloaked with a spun brass boss set into a drilled rebate.
