*Giclée (pronounced “Zee-Clay”) typically refers to using long life ink and paper with an art paper texture which has no reflection.

This painting is inspired by the Mangauika Stream, which runs from Mt Pirongia and feeds the water supply in the nearby town of Te Awamutu in the Waikato basin of New Zealand.
A night scene, it depicts a ‘glass eel’ - one of the developmental stages young eels go through during maturation after returning nearly 5000km from their spawning grounds near Tonga.

About the artist
My work is largely inspired by nature - I create peaceful representations that the viewer can connect with emotionally, drawing them into place of calm contemplation.
