Love Knot - Viking knit in bronze with Tourmaline

This necklace was made to celebrate a Bronze wedding Anniversary, with Tourmaline for the birth stone.

Inspired by Algerian Love knots, I have created the pendant with interlocking lengths of Viking knit chain. The knot is attached to the two lengths of Viking knit chain with a double loop bail. The bail adds a contrast in texture to the chain, as it is woven with very thin Bronze wire and embellished with a pink oval Tormaline stone.

The bail detail is mirrored in the bottom of the knot, with another woven bail, which connects the tassel. The tassel not only adds movement to the piece but also a splash of colour with faceted Tourmaline briollettes.

The pendant measures 5 1/2” from the top of the loops to the bottom of the longest drop. The Love knot measures 1 1/3” across. The chain is 17 1/2 long.

I have oxidised this piece to really highlight the detail.
