Boats in the Harbour, Coverack

Part of my series of mixed media harbour paintings.
A lovely bright mixed media and collage painting of boats in the harbour at Coverack in Cornwall. We visited Coverack this Spring when it was looking beautiful and thankfully before the awful flooding! Such a picturesque cove, an artist’s dream to paint! I love to sketch on the spot and then work in the studio at home to produce my mixed media pieces.
I enjoy working with layers of collage papers to build up an interesting surface on which to paint and then use mainly acrylic inks to build up the colours and keep the luminosity. This painting has shades of blue and turquoise as well as hints of burgundy and vermilion for contrast. Painting size is about 12"x12”.
Comes mounted and framed in a warm-white mount and a white painted wooden frame size 16x16”.
