Haria Market, Lanzarote
My paintings are mostly of Scotland but occasionally something catches my eye when I’m on holiday as was the case here. This is the little town of Haria in Lanzarote known as “The Valley of a Thousand Palms”. Every Saturday there is a little bustling market in the town square and whether you are buying, browsing or just sitting in the shade with a coffee it’s a lovely place to while away a few hours. This scene is typical of a market day in winter when the local people are still wearing their warmer clothes.
