Pennan
Pennan is a little village in the north eastof Scotland. Although tiny, only a row of cottages and one hotel, it became famous after the filming of Local Hero in 1983. This painting conveys the peace and tranquility of the village, only a few houses, no bustling streets and just the waves lapping the shore. The composition has been continued on the edges of the deep profile canvas allowing it to be hung without framing if so desired.
