Looking Out From Benbecula
I could stare at the sea for hours on end and also never tire of painting seascapes. This painting was inspired by a visit to the Outer Hebrides a few years ago when the surf was whipped up into a frenzy by the prevailing westerly winds. We tend to think of the seas as being blue or grey but look carefully and you will find so many colours reflected in the crests and troughs of the swell. Here there are shades of pink, blue and purple in the sea and the sky.
