Urban Life and Rural Dreams
When I first started this painting I wasn’t sure where I wanted it to go. I tend normally to paint seascapes but on this occasion I painted a cityscape but found I was still thinking about my favourite views and so it developed - a cityscape but the Hebridean homes and lighthouse were very much to the forefront of my focus. There is a city skyline The city skyline is shrouded in mist from which the little white houses and the lighthouse emerge. The composition is continued on the edges allowing the work to be hung without framing. Ready to hang.
