This is a figurative oil painting of my daughter Greta who was 7 years old at the time, I worked from pencil studies and photos and the subject is lit by daylight from our living room window which is to the right in the picture plane. I wanted to capture the curiosity and mystery of her gaze along with a fidgetiness common to children within the comforting stillness of our living room during the daytime.
