Harvest Time (Safely gathered in)

Painted during the harvest in the countryside surrounding my home village here in Oxfordshire. The constant buzz of the combines and tractors goes on throughout the days and nights. I walk my dog regularly around these golden fields and love the stark contrast of the blue/greys against the warm golds of the corn stalks and stubble when the skies darken with impending rain! This painting is done using acrylic paints on a square canvas ready to hang, with the sides painted a dark burgundy colour. It forms a ‘diptych’ if liked with my other similar field painting here.
