Urban Country Diary No. 1
By tim bradford
I often ask myself why I want to stay in London.
The feeling of suffocation and sensory overload
can usually be lifted by taking a short stroll
in any direction from our house.
About a mile to the east is an area of water birds
and wildflowers called Woodberry Wetlands.
Over it all loom the three mystical tower blocks on Bethune Road.
Skirting it all silently to the north is the New River
- source of my dreams and obsessions for many years.
