War Wood I (L'Arbre Croate)

While on holiday in Croatia in 2007, I photographed several burnt trees left from the 1990’s Balkans War. This tree reminded me of a wounded animal like the horse in Picasso’s Guernica. These trees were in an area marked as a mine field became the inspiration for my 2009 university degree sculptural installation, “War Wood/Ne Prilazite.”
