A very early self-portrait ; puckered-up and ready to kiss !
This work was produced in my then outdoor studio, with no easy access to a mirror. It was necessary therefore to regularly trot over to the toilets in order to scrutinise my face in the mirror there - and then sprint back to my workstation to sculpt a little more from memory.
It is a light-hearted piece which pleased me greatly at the time and continues to please me today.
The stone used for this piece was rescued from a local stonemason company’s skip
