Artist’s palette

This piece just goes to show how visually striking a simple design, carefully executed can be.
On his two days’ course the student first had to produce a flat surface upon the rough stone and then place the design appropriately upon it ; also ensuring that the size of the design was suitable for the size of the stone. As you can see, this student had marvellous control over the chisel.

The stone used for this piece was rescued from a local stonemason company’s skip
