Oval Flower Fine Silver Necklace
I saw a lovely mauve flower in the herb garden and realised it was a chive flower and I thought it had lovely texture and shape and so I made a mould from it, not sure as to what it would look like as a piece of jewellery I thought I would try it in some fine silver metal clay (99.9% silver, versus sterling which s 92.5% silver) and I decided that an oval shape lent itself well to the shape of the flowers. I used a nice solid simple belcher chain with it as it has a simplicity to it that works well with the pendant. If you have not come across metal clay before it starts out life as fine particles of metal that is combined with a binder and then it can be shaped and sculpted and folded and all manner of things, it is then dried and fired whereupon the metal particles fuse together, great stuff, first created by the Japanese and now made in every metal imaginable all over the world. This pendant is made using fine 99.9% silver metal clay.
The pendant is 2.7cm high and 3.2cm wide, in inches that is just over and inch by an inch and a quarter. It has an easy to use good sized lobster/carabiner clasp.
