World Map Wax Seal Silver Pendant
World map pendant made using wax seal stamps with fine silver metal clay (fine silver has a higher silver content 99.9% silver, sterling is 92.5%), fun unisex pendants!
I have left the edges a little irregular, not a perfect round and I have burnished and polished the raised parts of the pendant so they pop out from the backgrounds. The height is approximately 2.2cm (just over 3/4 of an inch) and the width approximately 2.1cm (again just over 3/4 of an inch) and the chain is 46cm long or 18 inches, it is a nice sized trace chain for the earth pendant.
If you haven’t come across metal clay before it was first created by the Japanese back in 1990 in gold and then in turn silver, it is microscopic particles of silver mixed into a binder, it can be sculpted, textured, rolled etc. it is then fired whereupon the binder burns away and the particles fuse together or sinter into a solid metal piece.
I love metal clay and the textures that can be created on a piece but please note it is not like milled metal sheet which can be made very smooth and is often highly polished.
