Square Swirl Silver Necklace with gold patination
Swirls of silver adorn this square pendant with gold patination running through it, square simplicity! The pendant hangs from a good sized sterling silver Spiga chain with a carabiner/lobster clasp. The pendant is made from fine silver metal clay which has a 99.9% silver content versus sterling which is 92.5% and which if you haven’t come across this before is made from microscopic particles of silver mixed with a binder which can be sculpted or shaped etc. and when it is fired the binder burns away leaving a solid metal piece, the Japanese first created it is 1990 and since then all sorts of metal clay has appeared, bronze, copper, brass etc..The gold patination is a patina which they make in every colour in the rainbow these days and it is permanent. The pendant is 2.2cm high and 2.3cm wide (just under an inch high and wide) and the chain running from either side is 46cm or just over 18 inches. There is a matching pair of earrings if you fancy a set!
