Long Feather Textured Patinated Silver Earrings

I had in mind to make a long oval/elliptical pair of earrings and I thought a feather texture would work well on that sort of shape so here they are! I have given them a long soldered sterling silver ear wire as I felt they needed a plain earring fitting and I have then patinated them and polished and burnished the raised parts so they sparkle as they move. A good shape for a lot of different face shapes! They are 5.9cm long from the top of the hook, 1.1cm wide and 4.5cm from the bottom of the hook, in inches that is nearly 2 inches from the top of the hook, 3/8 of an inch wide and 1 3/4 inches from the bottom of the hook.
They are made from fine silver metal clay, which is tiny particles of fine silver (99.9% purity, sterling is 92.5%) which is mixed with a clay binder and then textured, shaped, sculpted etc., once dried it is then fired where the clay binder burns away and the metal particles fuse together leaving a solid silver piece, first created by the Japanese and now produced in all sorts of metals! Silver metal clay is recycled, so kind to the planet!
I love metal clay but please note it does not come out like a smooth milled sheet of metal at the end of all the processes, I feel this is part of it’s charm and it is solid metal of whichever type it is made from.
