Lovely shimmery wire wrapped Oregon Sunstones adorn these pretty swallow earrings, the earrings are made in sterling silver apart from the little swallows which are gold vermeil, which is sterling silver with a thick gold plate of high carat/karat. Light and easy to wear and a little bit different. If you don’t know the gem Sunstone I love it, it can be quite pale and clear (like this pair) or go to a deep orange/rusty colour, this is the variety known as Oregon Sunstone and it is found in Harney County, Oregon and in eastern Lake County north of Plush. Oregon Sunstone contains elemental copper, which is what presumably gives it it’s shimmer! The earrings are 4.7cm long and 1.4cm wide and the drop length from the bottom of the hook is 3.5cm in inches that is one and seven eighths of an inch from the top of the hook, half an inch wide and the drop length is one and three eighths of an inch.
