Textured Swirl Dimple Polygon Silver Earrings
An unusual pair of swirl patterned polygon shaped earrings and I have made them with a gentle curve, lovely and light to wear but striking to look at! Made from fine silver metal clay, which is 99.5% silver versus sterling silver’s 92.5% silver content, it works beautifully for earrings. I have given them a nice long back on the ear wire so they stay put! If you haven’t come across metal clay before it was created by the Japanese in 1990, it is made from microscopic particles of silver combined with a binder which when fired then burns away leaving a solid silver piece, clever stuff! It is available in all sorts of metals these days as well as silver, bronze, copper, gold, brass. the earrings are approximately 3.8cm long from the top of the hook, the drop length from the bottom of the hook is 2.2cm and the width at the widest point is 2cm, in inches that is 1 1/2 from the top of the hook, the drop length is 7/8 inch and the width is 3/4 inch.
I love metal clay and the textures that can be created on a piece but please note it is not like milled metal sheet which can be made very smooth and is often highly polished.
