Fern Mismatching Wax Seal Silver Earrings
A pair of wax seal stamp fern earrings with two different fern patterns, one is a Maidenhair fern and the other just a fern! If mismatching is not your thing just let me know and I can make a pair of whichever you prefer! I have left the edges more or less how they came out when I stamped them, I think it adds to that wax seal stamp look! I have given them squared off sterling silver ear fittings that ave been soldered for a nice clean line. I also patinated or oxidised them and then burnished the raised parts to give them that extra lustre! You may not receive the pair pictured but a pair very like them, each pair is made individually and therefore unique. They are made from fine silver metal clay, which is tiny particles of fine silver (99.9% purity, sterling is 92.5%) mixed with a clay binder which can then be textured, shaped, sculpted etc., once dried it is fired and the clay binder burns away leaving a silver piece. The length of the earrings is 3.7cm from the top of the hook and 2cm wide and approximately 2cm drop form the bottom of the hook, in inches that is a little under 1 1/2 inches long, just over 3/4 of an inch wide and drop length also 3/4 of an inch.
I love metal clay but please note it does not come out like a smooth milled sheet of metal at the end of all the processes, I feel this is part of it’s charm and it is solid metal of whichever type it is made from.
