Planned Crossing

A ghost image of a planned 19th century railway viaduct spans the river South Tyne near Tynehead above where a fellside track crosses the river. This is a memory painting based on the knowledge I have built up exploring this land over many years. The drama of light dominates the valley. My sense of place constantly shifts with the weather and light. Nothing is fixed not even the painting.
