Lundy Island 2

A painting of Lundy’s south lighthouse and the ferry harbour looking out towards the north coast of Devon and Dorset. I was a guest on Lundy of the Cloud Appreciation Society who invited me to give a talk about the sky in art as part of their annual Sky Gathering and to run outdoor sketching workshops for the paying guests. This painting was executed rapidly using oil pastel on top black in ink in the darker areas and watercolour and oil pastel for the rest. I could have spent another month or more on Lundy painting every day. Perhaps someone will sponsor me to be artist in residence on Lundy one day looking at the fantastic cliffs and wildlife as well as the magnificent views across the sea to England and Wales! This painting now resides in the USA.
