Amethyst and copper wire woven, Dragonfly necklace with Viking knit chain

The dragonfly, as a creature of the wind, symbolises change, transformation, adaptability, and self-realization.

An asymmetrical Dragonfly which has a beautiful faceted piece of Amethyst as the focal point, which I have encased in delicately knitted copper wire to create a handmade bezel which captures the stone. The Dragonfly itself is made using thick copper wires, that have been hand shaped and hammered to form the frames and then delicate woven and knitted think copper wires have been used to embellish the design and add detail. The dragonfly is 3” tall and 2” wide

The pendant hangs from a handmade, double knit, Viking knit chain, which I have finished with handmade wire end caps and clasp.

The pendant measures 1 1/4” across (from one side to the other) and 3” tall (from the top of the bail to the bottom of the third stone). The chain is 16” long.
