Karioi Island
Sold by Raglan Old School Arts Centre.
Part of an exhibition about climate change, this painting depicts Raglan’s Mt Karioi as an island in response to the threat of rising sea levels. The island has been created using words from scientific reports which are coloured to represent the shadows and highlights of the land.
Part of Toni’s ‘Horizon’ series, inspired by the beauty of our beaches and coast lines at sunrise and sunset.
These abstract seascapes are created using fluid acrylics on timber panel, some with metallic accents of copper and gold. Each piece is finished with a glassy top coat of art resin to add depth and magnify the metallics.
On ply panel, ready to hang

My work is largely inspired by nature - I create peaceful representations that the viewer can connect with emotionally, drawing them into place of calm contemplation.
