Snowflake Flower Earrings
Gorgeous spring snowflake flower silver earrings. I took a mould from what I thought was a late flowering snowdrop and managed to press the flower out so it didn’t look like a traditional snowdrop only to be informed by my green fingered mum that it was not a snowdrop but a Leucojum Vernum, also known as a Spring Snowflake flower and a white violet! The spring snowflake flower earring has a long curved wire wrapped stem and a simple soldered hook ear fitting. The flower is made from fine silver metal clay.
If you have not come across metal clay before it was first created by the Japanese back in 1990 in gold and then in turn silver, it is microscopic particles of silver mixed into a binder, it can be sculpted, textured, rolled etc. it is then fired whereupon the binder burns away and the particles fuse together or sinter into a metal piece.
The earrings are 5.4cm in length (2 1/8 inch), these could be made a little shorter if you wish, just message me with the length you would like, the drop length is 3.9cm (1 1/2 inch) and the width is 2cm (3/4 inch).
