In this tutorial I teach you how to make a Celtic inspired barrette, bun cage or shawl pin
I have secured three double spirals together to form a triangular shape. The Spirals have been wrapped and the coiled to add detail but also making this piece very strong. This design is adjustable, by passing the pin through different loops increases or decreases the space between the barrette and the pin, allowing you to secure different amount of hair or fabric.
It is possible to make this barrette in any size you desire. At the end of this tutorial I give you the exact details and measurements for three sizes (small, medium and large). For the purposes of this lesson, I focus on the medium size.
This is a great project for getting used to heavier gauges of wire.
As with any written instruction, please read through at least once before starting.
