Silver Edelweiss Cufflinks
Eye catching round silver cufflinks with a fabulous Edelweiss flower design taken from a Vintage button. I made some of these for a customer who wanted matching cufflinks for her fiancé to go with the Edelweiss earrings she was buying for herself and I thought perhaps there were other people out there who would like them too! The top of the cufflink is made from fine silver metal clay whilst the curved whale tail base (as they call them) is sterling and is stamped 925, the oval piece at the end of the whale tail flips like a usual cufflink base, they are not hallmarked as they are under the required weight for hallmarking! I used whale tail bases as I think they look good with a round cufflink.
If you haven’t come across metal clay before it was first created by the Japanese back in 1990 in gold and then in turn silver, it is microscopic particles of silver mixed into a binder, it can be sculpted, textured, rolled etc. it is then fired whereupon the binder burns away and the particles fuse together or sinter into a solid metal piece.
The width or diameter of the cufflink top is 1.7cm (5/8 inch) and the height of the cufflink is also 1.7cm (5/8 inch).
ALL my ITEMS are gift wrapped!
If you would like to purchase Edelweiss earrings too there is both a drop/dangly pair and a stud pair available, please find the studs in the Stud and Climber Earrings section and the dangly pair in the dangle drop earrings section.
