See the note on The Original Gunfighter. If these are deemed 19th and 21st century versions, some compare-and-contrast becomes feasible. In this modern version the valley floor is now tarmac. The natural landscape has been overwhelmed by habitations, which bring their own pollution. The sky is no longer clear. The gunfighter has undergone mutation.
