Durer's Rhino

My interpretation of Albrecht Durer’s illustration of a rhinoceros from the 15th century. Done with the Verre eglomise technique of gilded (imitation) gold and silver leaf to the reverse of a sheet of glass, then engraving the image from the reverse. Viewed from the front is a mirror-like, softly reflective surface, enhancing the illustrative nature of the composition.
