Winter Thames at Kelmscot
A cold but bright Winter’s day by the river Thames at Kelmscot, once the home of William Morris the famous designer.
There’s some snow remaining on the ground and in the distance a red houseboat with smoke puffing out from the chimney.
Painted in oils with a brush and palette knife with some ‘scraffito’ or drawing through the layers for some of the bare branches of the leafless trees. There are scumbles and glazes of paint over the water to create the reflections.
This painting comes ready to hang unframed as I have painted the sides of the canvas with white acrylic paint. Alternatively the painting can also be sold framed, please message me for this option.
