a game of cowboys and indians

a game of cowboys and indians

monochrome oil painting of children playing in the street.
This was usually played the next day after some cowboy or western have been on the television. (Famous actors like John Wayne, Randolph Scott or Gary Cooper played either gunslingers or cavalry soldiers). Us lads would be the cowboys and any girls who wanted to play were usually the Indians. The bows, if anyone had one, were always those rubbish types bought or won at a fair and the first time used they would snap in half. If we didn’t have a toy gun then a broom handle would suffice as a rifle. A good bit of fun back in the ’60s and ’70s.
