Surreal paper collage mixing retro film stars and classical art.
A ‘phantasme’ (in English Fantasy) is an imaginary representation of an obvious or unconscious desire.
In ‘Phantasme 4’ five figures are represented.
On the background, an illustration of ‘Hercules, Deianira and Nessus’ by Bartholomeus Spranger.
An authentic black and white illustration from the French film magazine ‘Mon Film’, 1948 is added.
This illustration is a detail of the portraits of Joan Fontaine and Louis Jourdan, for the film ‘Letter from an Unknown Woman ‘.

About the artist
Of all forms of art, Marian prefers to express herself through collage.
