Tàirneanach anns na Beanntan, Cille Chòmhain, Cnòideart.

Thunder Locally, Kilchoan, Knoydart. Oil on canvas 30 x 20 inches. Framed size 36 x 26 inches.
Frame colour “Charleston Grey”, Slip colour “Dimity” both by Farrow and Ball.
By walking past the buildings at Kilchoan and following the east bank of the Inverie River, it is possible to reach the wooded headland known as the Cnap. The crest of wind-battered Pines on the promontory is a landmark when approaching Inverie across Loch Nevis. The view back towards Kilchoan takes in Meall Buidhe, a Knoydart Munro.
Artist’s notes: the main subject of the painting is the ribboned cloud bank, drifting over Meall Buidhe, anticipating a change in the weather: Summer heat and the sudden quiet stillness that develops when thunderstorms are around. Intense greens, particularly trees, show very dark in the landscape adding dramatic contrast.
