Reversible Peony Petal Pendant

A new addition to my petal pendants, this one is a silver peony petal. It is lovely and three dimensional undulating like a peony petal does, I have made a discreet bail so it does not interfere with the flow of the petal and the pendant can be worn either way round both sides are interesting, one is concave and the other convex. it is approximately 4cm wide and 2.7cm tall. the chain is 51cm (20 inches).

Peony flowers are generally symbolic of love, honor, happiness wealth, romance, and beauty, the peony is traditionally given on special occasions as an expression of goodwill, best wishes, and joy.

The petal is made from fine silver metal clay, if you have not come across metal clay before it is fine silver particles mixed in with a clay binder and it can be textured and sculpted and all sorts, it is dried and fired whereupon the binder burns away leaving a solid metal piece, it comes in many sorts of metals these days, bronze, copper, silver and gold.

The chain is a lovely sparkly sterling silver roll/belcher chain but it doesn’t detract from the petal and although it is quite fine it is still a strong chain, it is 20 inches in length as I felt the petal would benefit from a longer chain, if you would like it shorter or longer please contact me and I will do my best to accommodate! The clasp is a nice sized carabiner clasp.
